SEEKING: 2 male identifying and 2 female identifying dancers with strong presence and technique. Come prepared to dance.

SEEKING:

[RAPUNZEL] 18 to 30 years old; all ethnicities; woman. Rapunzel is the adventurous, optimistic heroine of our story. Despite being trapped in a tower, she is curious about the outside world and dreams of freedom. Strong acting and singing required, with a focus on conveying both innocence and strength. (singing style: Taylor Swift, Olivia Dean)

[PRINCE SEBASTIAN] 18 to 30 years old; all ethnicities; man. Charming, brave, and occasionally a bit overconfident, Prince Sebastian is Rapunzel’s rescuer. A classic panto prince, he must be able to sing and have strong comedic timing. Experience with physical comedy a plus. Strong pop voice. (Singing Style: Benson Boone, Bruno Mars)

[SIMPLE SIMON] 18 to 35 years old; all ethnicities; man, including transgender man, nonbinary. Prince Sebastian’s sidekick, Simple Simon is well-meaning but not the sharpest tool in the shed. He’s clumsy, funny, and always gets into trouble. Must have excellent comedic timing and ability to interact with the audience in true Panto style. Improv comedy chops a plus! Singing a Bonus.

[SNIVILLE] 35 to 50 years old; all ethnicities; man. Sniville is Gothel’s bumbling sidekick. He’s sneaky and mysterious but a gentle giant at heart. Great comedic timing and physical comedy required. Must Sing.

[DAME BOUFFANT] 35 to 50 years old; all ethnicities; any gender. Dame Bouffant is the local hairdresser, full of energy, sass, and humor. They must have great comedic timing, the ability to engage with the audience, and strong singing abilities. This is the fun, larger-than-life character of the show and will be a big crowd favorite. Must Sing. Cast in the traditional way of Panto Dames, actors of all genders will be considered for the role to play female.

[MOTHER GOTHEL] 40 to 55 years old; Woman, including Transgender Woman; all ethnicities. (Alto/Mezzo-Soprano) The wicked villain of the story, Gothel is manipulative, vain, and ruthless. She keeps Rapunzel locked in the tower to maintain her youth. A larger-than-life role that requires strong vocals and stage presence. Must be able to engage in playful villainy with the audience. (Song Styles: Shirley Bassey)

Storyline: RAPUNZEL AND HER HOLIDAY WISH is based on the beloved fairytale This hairlarious tangled tale undergoes a Holiday Panto makeover. Prepare for a spellbinding journey as Rapunzel tries to escape from her tower with the help from her friends Dame Betty and Simple Simon, all while learning her true identity. Filled with laughter, music, pop music from Taylor Swift to Queen, and of course snow!
